Saudi Arabia has announced a major update to its Umrah visa policy, introducing a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa for eligible travelers.
The new visa replaces the previous three-month single-entry Umrah visa, allowing pilgrims to make multiple visits to the Kingdom during the visa’s validity period without applying for a new visa each time.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to improve the pilgrimage experience, simplify travel procedures, and encourage more year-round religious tourism.
While the new visa remains valid for one year, travelers should note that visa validity does not determine the length of stay permitted in the country.
Under the current policy, the visa allows multiple entries throughout its one-year validity period, but the maximum stay permitted on each visit is up to 90 days, subject to Saudi Arabia’s immigration regulations and the specific conditions attached to the visa.
This distinction is important for travelers, as overstaying the permitted duration—even with a valid visa—may result in penalties, future travel restrictions, or immigration action.
